Fake Soldier Arrested for Army Uniform Impersonation

In Chittorgarh district, a man identified as Bharat Singh was apprehended by Badi Sadri police on Sunday for allegedly impersonating an Indian Army soldier. Singh reportedly posed as a member of the Rajputana Rifles, using an Army uniform to create and circulate various media content online.
Intelligence received from Military Intelligence in Pune prompted the formation of a special police team. Investigators examined two mobile phones recovered from Singh's possession. During their examination, they discovered several fake social media accounts on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. These accounts prominently featured Singh’s photograph while he was wearing an Army uniform.
Authorities confirmed that Bharat Singh is not affiliated with the Indian Army. He was allegedly creating and distributing videos and reels while dressed in the uniform to mislead the public. He was arrested, and legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant sections of the BNS and IT Act. Police noted that a prior criminal case was also registered against Singh, for which a chargesheet has already been filed.
