Police in Eyemouth, a fishing village in the Borders, are actively investigating a report of a man seen carrying a crossbow. The alert was raised on Monday morning when officers were informed that a group of young men, estimated to be between 16 and 30 years old, had gathered in the Renton Terrace area. One individual in the group was believed to be in possession of a weapon. Although no shots were fired and no injuries were reported, police conducted a comprehensive search of the vicinity. The group was last sighted on High Street, but a search by officers yielded no sign of them. The man reportedly carrying the crossbow is described as white, with short dark hair, wearing a T-shirt with orange markings and black trousers.
