Dariel Nunez-Montero, 32, is awaiting extradition from Kentucky to Washington state, accused of murdering Courtney Clinton. The violent attack occurred in front of her 1-year-old son inside a Ford Edge SUV. Clinton was discovered deceased with slash wounds to her neck on November 1, 2024, in Vancouver, Washington.
Nunez-Montero's DNA was found on the SUV's front passenger door, and also discovered under the victim's fingernails, according to a probable cause affidavit. Investigators believe the fatal attack occurred on October 29, 2024, after Nunez-Montero was seen leaving his apartment with Clinton and her baby, and later returning alone.
The victim, who reportedly met men through social media and posted on escort websites, had sent her location to a friend at 3:38 a.m. on October 29, placing her at Nunez-Montero's apartment complex. He has been in custody in Kentucky on separate charges since an arrest warrant was issued in April 2025.
