Ernest Heinz, 47, a former actor with credits including The Sopranos, is in custody in New Jersey facing serious charges following a road rage incident. Prosecutors allege Heinz opened fire on another driver, Maritza Arias-Galva, at a traffic light in Galloway Township on September 11. The shooting occurred as vehicles merged lanes near Stockton University.
Arias-Galva sustained a severe gunshot wound to the face, resulting in permanent blindness in her right eye. Authorities reported Heinz made threats before firing into her vehicle. He was apprehended within hours of the incident, with investigators reportedly linking him to the firearms used.
H Heinz has been indicted on 31 counts, including first-degree attempted murder and aggravated assault. He is currently detained without bail at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. His defense is reportedly pursuing a lesser charge of passion-provocation manslaughter.
