Ashley Evans, a 36-year-old former prison officer, has been sentenced to 40 months imprisonment for a series of child sex offenses. The crimes, which occurred prior to his arrest on May 21, include causing a child to engage in sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor.
During his sentencing at Northampton Crown Court on December 12, Evans also admitted to attempting to cause a child to watch or look at an image of sexual activity, as well as possession of cocaine. His conviction carries severe consequences beyond his prison term.
In addition to the jail time, Evans has been handed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. This order permanently bars him from any employment or voluntary work involving children and vulnerable adults, ensuring public safety moving forward.
