A former member of the Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park has spoken out about an alleged betrayal of trust by an ex-youth pastor. Bart Lucas, 59, was arrested in June and charged with video voyeurism.
Investigators discovered multiple images of nude or partially nude young girls and women on Lucas's hard drive. These videos were reportedly recorded by cameras hidden inside the church's women's restroom and the baptismal pool area.
One of the victims, a childhood friend of the former member, was allegedly underage at the time the videos were captured. The Lake County Sheriff's Office has stated they cannot comment on the number of victims due to the ongoing investigation. Lucas is scheduled to return to court next month.
