Michael McKee, 31, the ex-husband of Monique Tepe, has been arrested and charged with two counts of murder. He is accused in the fatal shooting of Monique Tepe and her husband, Spencer Tepe, who were found deceased in their Columbus, Ohio home on December 30. McKee was taken into custody in Rockford, Illinois, more than a week after the crime.
Court documents confirm McKee is Monique Tepe's ex-husband; they divorced in May 2017. McKee, who trained as a doctor at Ohio State University, holds active medical licenses in Illinois and California. Detectives identified and located a vehicle linked to McKee in Illinois, finding evidence connecting him to its ownership.
The Tepes' bodies were discovered after Spencer Tepe missed work. Their two young children, ages 1 and 4, and their dog were home during the incident and were unharmed. Authorities stated there was no sign of forced entry, and no firearm was recovered at the scene.
