Matthan Lough, a former Texas teacher and coach, was arrested on December 10th, facing a child grooming charge. He is accused of grooming a 17-year-old girl who attended the church where his father was a pastor. Lough later became the girl's volleyball coach.
The investigation was prompted in early October when the victim's mother discovered inappropriate text messages between Lough and her daughter. Authorities allege conversations escalated in the summer, with Lough requesting explicit photos. Prosecutors cite three key incidents in September, including alleged inappropriate touching at a church and in a parking lot.
During the investigation, police reportedly found an AI-generated document titled 'Hypothetical Counter-Influence Plan,' detailing five steps for manipulating women. Lough previously worked at Pioneer Technology and Arts Academy and coached club volleyball. The Christian Center of Mesquite stated Lough was not an employee but acknowledged allegations might have occurred on church property.
