A woman in Esher was assaulted and had her bag and phone stolen by four men on Friday evening. The victim was walking along More Lane towards the High Street at approximately 17:00 GMT when the attack occurred.
During the incident, the victim was pushed to the ground and kicked in the head. The perpetrators fled the scene in a black car. However, another woman who was passing by intervened, successfully retrieving the stolen items before the robbers escaped.
The assaulted woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of suspected concussion. Police are now urgently seeking to identify and speak with the passer-by who bravely intervened, as well as appealing for any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.
