He is accused of fatally stabbing his twin sister approximately 40 times and also attacking their mother at their family residence. The siblings, originally from Budaun, were in Moradabad to celebrate Holi. The accused reportedly confessed to investigators that he had been experiencing considerable stress following the end of a relationship formed on Instagram about seven months prior.
The tragic events unfolded when the victim, his twin sister, attempted to counsel him during a heated argument. In a fit of rage, the brother allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and launched an assault. Their mother sustained injuries when she intervened in the altercation. Neighbours alerted the police after hearing screams, but the perpetrator had already fled the scene, leaving behind the blood-stained weapon.
