A 25-year-old electrician, identified as Manish Kashyap, was discovered deceased in the forest area of Sector 38 on Sunday morning. He had been reported missing by his family since Saturday noon. Police preliminary investigations suggest a possible drug overdose as no suicide note was recovered from the scene.
Kashyap, who worked in Shimla and was soon to be married, reportedly left home on Saturday afternoon stating he was going for a haircut. His family expressed distress, claiming the body bore injury marks and that approximately Rs 8000 cash he was carrying was missing. They also stated police restricted a close examination of the body. The final cause of death awaits the results of a postmortem examination.
