Generosity Overcomes Theft: Easter Eggs Replaced
20 Mar
Summary
- Over 30 Easter eggs were stolen from a Goole supermarket.
- The stolen eggs were intended for children in Scunthorpe General Hospital.
- Community support quickly replaced stolen eggs and led to more donations.

A significant theft occurred at a Goole Tesco when a trolley containing over 30 Easter eggs, collected for the Disney Ward at Scunthorpe General Hospital, was stolen on Monday evening. Mark Skinn, the organiser from Goole Vikings Supporters Club, expressed disbelief and frustration.
Following the incident, the community rallied with remarkable generosity. Tesco confirmed they replaced the missing eggs and enhanced security for donations. Skinn reported an overwhelming response, with offers of donations pouring in from individuals and local businesses.
This surge in support has enabled Skinn to expand the appeal. Originally intended for one hospital, the donations will now benefit three local children's wards, with monetary contributions directed to a local hospice. The eggs are scheduled for delivery on Easter Sunday.
Skinn expressed profound gratitude to the people of Goole for their incredible community spirit and support for the children. Leftover eggs will be donated to the Goole Vikings junior teams.
