Tragedy in Dungannon: Girl Fights for Life After Attack

An eight-year-old girl is currently in stable condition following a disturbing incident at a house in Dungannon on Saturday. The body of a 61-year-old man was found at the property on Lisnahull Road. His wife, aged 48, also sustained injuries but has since been released from hospital.

A 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and remains in custody. Detectives have been granted an extension to question the teenager further. The man who died was reportedly from Guinea-Bissau and had resided in Northern Ireland for over two decades.

Police were alerted to a disturbance at the house on Saturday morning. Officers arrived to find the man deceased and his wife and daughter injured. The quick actions of the responding officers are credited with saving the young girl's life. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service dispatched significant resources, including a helicopter, to the scene.
