Dubai Police recently concluded a significant traffic enforcement campaign, resulting in the seizure of 1,230 vehicles and the issuance of over 33,000 fines. This initiative primarily targets behaviours that negatively affect residents' quality of life and public safety.
The crackdown focused on several key violations, including 1,178 instances of unauthorised engine or chassis modifications, 412 cases of noise disturbance, and 341 instances of reckless driving. Additionally, 230 fines were issued for the misuse of vehicle horns or audio systems, causing public nuisance. The campaign also addressed 17,117 violations involving motorcycles and 14,094 related to electric bikes and bicycles.
Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan highlighted that the campaign, part of the 'Quiet Roads' initiative, responds to community complaints about excessive noise, reckless driving, and illegal modifications. The approach is data-driven, analysing reports to identify problem areas and patterns. Dubai Police remains committed to implementing such initiatives to bolster traffic safety, urging the public to report negative behaviours through official channels.
