Scholar's suicide: FIR against girlfriend, friend

An FIR has been filed against the girlfriend and a mutual friend of a 24-year-old Delhi University PhD scholar in Ghaziabad. The scholar, who was residing in Siddharth Vihar, allegedly died by suicide on August 25 after falling from the 27th floor of a residential building. His family reported that he would frequently speak with the two women for extended periods on the phone.
The scholar's uncle submitted a suicide note to the police, which stated, "I am ending my life by my own choice; I will not take anyone's name." The police have requested the victim's call detail records and are reviewing CCTV footage that shows the scholar heading towards the building's 27th floor shortly before the incident. A forensic examination of the recovered phone is also underway.
