A fatal incident in Kodad on June 30th, initially reported as a road accident, has been reclassified as murder following a detailed review of CCTV footage. The victim, Yakub Pasha, a 30-year-old labourer, died after being kicked by an intoxicated man, P Mahesh, 23, also a labourer.
The sequence of events began around 9 pm at a bar near Khammam X Roads. Mahesh, in a drunken state, argued with other patrons. Pasha reportedly intervened to pacify the situation and helped Mahesh leave the bar. Shortly after, as Pasha stepped outside, Mahesh, still heavily intoxicated, mistook Pasha for being part of the earlier altercation.
In his altered state, Mahesh allegedly kicked Pasha, causing him to fall onto the road. Tragically, Pasha was then run over by an oncoming truck. He succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at a local hospital. Police have altered the case registration from a road accident to murder and are actively seeking the arrest of the accused.
