An inspector attached to the Sahakarnagar police station in Pune allegedly assaulted a complainant on station premises on Friday night. Reports indicate the inspector was intoxicated at the time of the incident, which reportedly arose from a minor argument that began on a PMPML bus.
According to sources, the complainant, an employee of a private company, was traveling in a bus when a luxury bus allegedly brushed against it. After the luxury bus driver stopped, he allegedly entered the PMPML bus and assaulted the complainant. The complainant then went to the police station to report the incident.
It is alleged that the police inspector then confronted the complainant, questioned his decision to file a report, and proceeded to slap him. This inspector was recently transferred to Pune city police from Gadchiroli.
