Jenia Resha Belt, 33, faces murder charges seven months after allegedly killing 18-year-old tennis player Braun Levi. The fatal incident occurred on May 4th when Belt, driving with a blood alcohol level double the legal limit, struck Levi as he walked with a friend in Manhattan Beach. Levi was a three-time captain of his high school tennis team and was set to play for the University of Virginia.
Manhattan Beach Police reported that the impact caused catastrophic injuries, and Levi was pronounced dead at a local hospital. His family had recently relocated to the area after losing their home in the Palisades Fire. Belt is also charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license, having had her license suspended in January 2024.
