16x Over Limit Driver Gets Nearly 7 Years for Crash

Mohammed Ali, 45, has been sentenced to six years and 11 months imprisonment for causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The incident occurred on July 13 of last year in the Hull Bridge area of Tickton, Yorkshire. Ali was driving at excessive speeds, estimated between 60 and 90 mph in a 50 mph zone.
At the time of the collision, Ali was found to be approximately 16 times over the legal limit for cocaine. His erratic driving, including weaving through traffic, led him to lose control of his vehicle and crash head-on into a car carrying a retired couple. Both victims, aged 69, sustained severe injuries, with the husband suffering numerous fractures requiring intensive care and ongoing mobility assistance.
Ali admitted to multiple offenses, including causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while significantly impaired by drugs. He also faced charges for possessing cannabis, driving without insurance, and without a license. His driving record includes previous convictions for drug offenses and driving while disqualified.
