On Saturday, authorities arrested two individuals involved in inter-district drug trafficking near the Salga anganwadi centre. The suspects were apprehended by a police team acting on a tip-off regarding narcotics sales. During a search, 10 grams of brown sugar were discovered, along with a motorcycle and mobile phones, which were subsequently seized.
The arrested individuals, identified as Rajat Raj, 25, and Chhotan Kumar, 20, both hail from Hazaribag district. Cases have been filed against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. A court has remanded them to judicial custody as a probe continues.
Police are actively investigating to determine the source and extent of the drug supply network associated with the seized contraband. Raids are reportedly underway as part of this ongoing investigation.
