Investigators determined the motive was a dispute over a $300 drug debt. Despite Duncan's attempts to reason with Greene, the situation escalated, resulting in Duncan being strangled. His remains were later discovered in two separate locations within Richland County.
Greene, who was on probation for prior drug offenses, was convicted of murder on July 18, 2025, and sentenced to 57 years. He is currently serving his sentence at Kirkland Correctional Institution and has filed an appeal. Two other individuals faced accessory charges, with one being found not guilty.
