Rajasthan Police have successfully thwarted a significant drone-based narco-arms smuggling attempt originating from Pakistan. In an operation codenamed 'Operation SHOCKWAVE', authorities seized 10 kg of high-purity Afghan heroin, valued at approximately Rs 50 crore, and a cache of 11 foreign-made pistols with magazines and ammunition.
The bust occurred in the Khajuwala sector of Bikaner. Acting on intelligence and surveillance, police intercepted suspected smugglers in the process of collecting a consignment allegedly dropped by a drone from across the Pakistan border. One individual, identified as Virendra Singh from Jodhpur, was apprehended while transporting the contraband.
Preliminary investigations suggest connections between this cross-border syndicate and operatives in Punjab. The seized items included "999 Marka" Afghan heroin and sophisticated firearms like Zigana and Glock pistols. Security agencies are on high alert due to the proximity to Independence Day, intensifying surveillance along the India-Pakistan border.
