Prosecutors stated the collision was solely attributable to Garwell's actions.
During sentencing, the judge highlighted the profound loss to Mr. Anderson's family, emphasizing that the jail term could never equate to the value of the life lost. Garwell, who pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, received a five-year driving ban and will serve his sentence, while Mr. Anderson will not have a future.
