Her son, 20-year-old Quadir Ford, was apprehended in Springfield Township after admitting to the crime.
Ford confessed to fatally stabbing his mother with a silver knife following an argument. He also admitted to disposing of the weapon, gloves, and mask in a nearby trash can. Police stated that while they had prior contact with Ford, no previous domestic incidents between him and his mother had been reported.
Authorities noted a strained relationship between Ford and Fleming, characterized by mutual accusations over the years. Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt expressed sadness over the violence and highlighted that domestic abuse cases have been increasing in the township since late 2025.
