Dowry Horror: Woman Thrown From Roof After Abuse

In a case of alleged dowry-related violence, an FIR was officially registered on Sunday evening against six named individuals and two unidentified persons, including the husband. This action followed a court order, as the married woman was reportedly beaten and thrown from a roof in Kannauj. The incident occurred after she opposed her husband's alleged illicit relations, resulting in fractures to her arm and spine.

The complaint was lodged by the victim's father, who stated his daughter was married seven years ago. He alleged that her husband and his family began harassing her over dowry two years into the marriage. On July 9, when the woman confronted her husband about his alleged affairs, he, along with others, reportedly locked her in a room and subjected her to a brutal beating.

According to the father's complaint, the woman managed to escape to the roof, only to be thrown down by the accused. Despite prior complaints to the police station and the SP's office, no action was taken, prompting the father to seek judicial intervention. Police confirmed the FIR was filed on the court's directive and stated that further action would be taken after a thorough investigation.
