A married woman, identified as Neha alias Beera Nayak, allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district. Her family has filed a complaint, leading the police to register a dowry death case against five members of her husband's family.
The deceased, from Tonk district, was married in April 2023. Relatives allege that about a year later, her husband began demanding a motorcycle and a car as additional dowry. Her family stated they provided dowry according to their financial capacity at the time of the wedding.
According to the complaint, Neha contacted her brother on the night of May 30, asking him to pick her up. The following morning, her father-in-law informed relatives of her 'illness' and directed them to the district hospital. There, family members found Neha dead, with her in-laws claiming they had taken her down from a hanging position and rushed her to the hospital.
