A brutal double murder has sent shockwaves through Friends Colony, where a man is accused of killing his wife and their minor daughter during a domestic dispute. The incident occurred late Friday night at their rented residence.
The discovery was made Saturday morning by the woman's brother, who went to check on them after receiving no response. He found the bodies of his sister, Babli, and her 12-year-old daughter near the staircase, both bearing deep cut injuries.
Senior Superintendent of Police Mehtab Singh confirmed the killings, indicating that domestic discord appears to be the motive. The husband, identified as Jaswinder Masi, is alleged to be responsible and is currently absconding. Police have registered an FIR and are actively searching for the suspect.
Family members reported that Jaswinder Masi was addicted to drugs and frequently assaulted his wife, demanding money for his habit. Babli worked in local households to support her family, and frequent arguments reportedly arose when she and her daughter objected to his drug use.
