The incident occurred as Torrance Whitaker, the suspect, evaded a traffic stop initiated by police. Whitaker deliberately hit the delivery driver with his car, knocking her onto the hood.
Undeterred by the impact, the driver retrieved the dropped food order from the street and proceeded to complete the delivery. Meanwhile, officers pursued Whitaker on foot through residential yards.
Whitaker was eventually apprehended and now faces aggravated assault charges for striking the delivery driver. The driver, who chose to remain anonymous, reported being in pain but thankfully avoided broken bones. She is currently exploring options to file a claim against Whitaker's insurance.
