Man Glued Dog's Face for Crimes

Three men have been sentenced for their involvement in a hare coursing incident in Lincolnshire during February of last year. Officers discovered a severely injured female lurcher in the boot of a car belonging to Shane Hooton, one of the accused. The dog had sustained a degloving injury to its lower jaw, which Hooton admitted to attempting to fix himself using superglue and staples. Veterinarians determined the dog had suffered significant pain and unnecessary suffering, leading to its euthanasia. Hooton and John Langan were also found to be in breach of existing court orders prohibiting them from being in Lincolnshire. They claimed hare coursing was part of their culture and they were unaware it was illegal. Thomas Jaffray was sentenced for trespassing with intent to pursue hares. All three received bans from keeping dogs and criminal behaviour orders preventing them from entering Lincolnshire during the hare coursing season.
