Dog Befriends Burglar, Offers Toys to Intruder

A golden retriever in San Diego, California, reacted to a home intruder not with aggression, but with a desire to play. The dog, named Nash, was captured on security video bringing his toys to the burglar. His owner, Dante Rowley, and his family witnessed the entire event remotely while they were in the process of boarding a flight. Nash's friendly overtures meant he was unlikely to be an effective guard dog.

When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, Nash appeared to interpret their presence as an invitation for more playtime. The footage concluded with police officers placing the individual who had broken into the home into handcuffs, highlighting the unexpected and amusing turn of events initiated by the golden retriever's unusual response to the intrusion.
