24 Aug
Summary
- Doctor Tamela Dutcher was allegedly shot dead by her daughter's boyfriend.
- The daughter, Bryanna Dutcher, is also charged in the murder.
- Deleted texts suggest premeditation between the daughter and boyfriend.

Doctor Tamela Dutcher, 55, was allegedly shot and killed in her Delaware County home on August 14 by Christian Evans, her daughter's boyfriend, and his roommate, Dajameous Payne. Tamela's husband discovered the scene and reported the shooting. Her 18-year-old daughter, Bryanna Dutcher, has been charged with aggravated murder alongside Evans, 20, and Payne, 21.
Investigators believe Bryanna repeatedly lied to authorities, hindering the investigation. She reportedly told police she was dating Evans secretly due to her parents' alleged racism, fearing expulsion if they discovered the relationship. Deleted text messages between Bryanna and Evans, discovered later, allegedly discussed harming her parents and obtaining a weapon.
Evans's attorney indicated a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity, citing his client's history of mental health disorders. Evans and Payne were identified as suspects after being seen discarding a bag. All three are currently held in Delaware County Jail.
