Doctor Attacked: Politician Accused of Threats

Dr. Srishti Baviskar is suffering from severe mental trauma after an alleged assault at Shastrinagar Hospital in Dombivli, Thane district. Her parents, speaking on her behalf, stated she is too distressed to discuss the ordeal. The incident allegedly occurred when local corporator Ramesh Mhatre and his associates attacked doctors and nurses.

Her father, Dr. Mahendra Baviskar, recounted that the corporator and his men assaulted staff and issued threats, including targeting female supporters. The family alleges that Mhatre's political connections to the ruling party have caused delays in his arrest and created an atmosphere of fear, impeding the police investigation.

They highlighted that such political interference is a recurring issue, with groups creating a climate of threats that disrupts hospital operations. The family emphasized that hospital CCTV footage contains clear evidence and urged authorities for swift action and enhanced security measures for healthcare professionals, particularly women doctors.
