26 Mar
Summary
- Skeletal remains found in 2025 identified as missing Timothy Michell Williams.
- DNA evidence and forensic genealogy analysis linked the remains to the man.
- Williams was last known alive in July 2020 and last seen near his home.

Skeletal remains unearthed in Gwinnett County in February 2025 have been positively identified as Timothy Michell Williams, a local businessman who disappeared in July 2020. The discovery was made by a construction crew near Northside Hospital Gwinnett.
Investigations involving the Lawrenceville Police Department and the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner utilized forensic sketches and missing persons reports. A breakthrough occurred in early 2026 when forensic genetic genealogy analysis by DNASolves/Othram pointed investigators toward potential relatives.
This lead allowed the Medical Examiner to connect the remains to Williams, confirming the identification with DNA from his mother. Williams was last known to be alive on July 18, 2020, and was last seen in Duluth. His cause of death remains undetermined as the investigation continues.
