Disgraced Music Mogul Pleads for Mercy Ahead of Sentencing

Just two days before his sentencing on October 3, 2025, Sean "Diddy" Combs has written a heartfelt letter to the judge, asking for "mercy." The 55-year-old former music mogul was convicted three months ago on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, following a nearly two-month-long trial that began with his arrest in September 2024.

In his letter, Combs takes "full responsibility and accountability" for his past actions, acknowledging that the "hardest 2 years" of his life were "rooted in my selfishness." He expresses deep remorse for the "hurt and pain" he has caused, particularly in reference to the surveillance footage and photographs that depicted him hitting and kicking his ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, in a hotel room.

Combs reflects on his time in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, where he says he experienced moments of wanting to "give up" and feeling "better off dead." However, he claims that "the old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn," as he spent his time reading, writing, working out, and undergoing therapy.

The former rapper also highlights the personal toll his actions have taken, noting that he has "failed my children as a father" and is unable to be there for his 84-year-old mother, who recently underwent brain surgery. Combs pleads with the judge to grant him a "second chance," stating that he will "never be in another criminal Courtroom again" and is willing to share his story to prevent others from making similar mistakes.
