Disgraced Mogul Pleads for Mercy Ahead of Sentencing

In a last-ditch effort to avoid a lengthy prison sentence, disgraced music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has submitted an emotional plea for "mercy" to a judge ahead of his sentencing on October 3, 2025. Combs, 55, was convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, though he was cleared of more serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

In his letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs takes full responsibility for his past wrongs, including a 2016 physical assault on his ex-girlfriend Cassie, which he says "plays over and over" in his head. Combs says he "literally lost my mind" during that incident and acknowledges that his "domestic violence will always be a heavy burden."

Combs also expresses remorse for his "downfall" that was "rooted in my selfishness" and involved "drugs and the excess." However, he claims to have undergone a "spiritual reset" since his September 2024 arrest, and is committed to remaining "drug-free, non-violent and peaceful."

Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of just over 11 years in prison for Combs, but his lawyers have argued he should serve only 14 months followed by a supervised release with mandatory drug treatment and therapy. Combs humbly asks the judge for "another chance" to be a better father, son, and community leader, vowing he will "never commit a crime again."
