Summary

- Most claims were dismissed due to missed filing deadlines, exceeding a year.
- One claim can be refiled in state court under the gender-motivated violence act.

A federal judge has dismissed the majority of singer Dawn Richard's lawsuit against Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Judge Katherine Polk Failla ruled that most claims, including allegations of emotional and physical abuse and groping, were filed beyond the one-year statute of limitations.
The judge acknowledged that the alleged acts, if true, were "execrable" but emphasized the ruling was independent of her personal feelings. Richard's legal team intends to refile a primary claim in state court under New York's gender-motivated violence act.
Richard, who was part of Combs' groups Danity Kane and Diddy -- Dirty Money from 2004 to 2012, previously testified in a trial where Combs was convicted of prostitution-related charges. Her lawsuit detailed years of alleged abuse, manipulation, and violence during her association with Combs.
Allegations in the lawsuit included being deprived of food and sleep, being subjected to verbal abuse, and witnessing violent outbursts and abuse against his girlfriend, Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura.
