Diddy Convicted on Prostitution Charges, Faces Sentencing
3 Oct
Summary
- Diddy convicted on two prostitution-related counts in July 2024
- Faces maximum 20-year sentence for September 2024 arrest
- Allegations of physical and psychological abuse from ex-girlfriend Cassie

Sean "Diddy" Combs, the fallen rap mogul, is set to be sentenced today following his July 2024 conviction on two prostitution-related counts in Manhattan federal court. Diddy now faces a maximum of 20 years in prison for his September 2024 arrest, which came in the wake of sex-abuse and trafficking allegations over the course of the previous year.
The allegations first surfaced when Diddy's ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, filed a civil suit alleging that Diddy used physical and psychological abuse against her. Cassie and another woman, referred to as "Jane," later testified at Diddy's trial, claiming he coerced them into sexual encounters with male escorts through his abusive behavior.
While Diddy was acquitted of the most serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, he was found guilty of the transportation counts. Prosecutors are now pushing for a 135-month sentence, arguing that Diddy remains "unrepentant" and that a strong message needs to be sent. Diddy's legal team, however, is urging the judge to impose a 14-month sentence, effectively meaning time served since his arrest.
