Witnesses indicated the vehicle fled the scene, leaving King with severe foot injuries, including two fractures.
Bailey, 40, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash causing serious bodily injury and resisting an officer. Police encountered Aoki, 43, at their home while investigating, though Bailey arrived shortly after and parked the Audi. He was taken into custody but later released on a $7,500 bond.
Jonathan Stephen King has filed a lawsuit against Bailey, alleging negligence and seeking punitive damages. The lawsuit claims Bailey looked directly at King while hitting him and then drove away. Aoki is also being sued for vicarious liability due to her ownership of the vehicle.
