Depressed Teen Takes Own Life in Gurgaon Rental Home

On October 22, 2025, a 15-year-old boy named Vikas, hailing from Darbhanga in Bihar, took his own life by hanging himself in his rented accommodation in Gurgaon's Sukhrali area. Vikas's father works as an auto driver, while his mother is employed as a domestic help.

According to the police, Vikas was alone at home when he used a bedsheet to hang himself from a ceiling fan. His mother discovered his lifeless body when she returned home around 6 pm and immediately raised an alarm, informing Vikas's father. The family, along with neighbors, rushed Vikas to Kalyani Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Investigating officers revealed that Vikas had been struggling to find a job and was depressed about his financial situation. His family members stated that Vikas had been feeling low for the past few days. No suicide note was found at the scene. The police have initiated inquest proceedings, and the body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination on Saturday.

This tragic incident has left the local community in Gurgaon deeply saddened, highlighting the need for greater support and resources for young people facing mental health challenges and unemployment.
