Summary
- Judge grants Denise Richards restraining order against ex-husband Aaron Phypers
- Order requires Phypers to stay 100 yards away and prohibits him from possessing firearms
- Richards accused Phypers of multiple instances of physical abuse during their marriage

On November 7, 2025, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge granted Denise Richards' request for a restraining order against her ex-husband, Aaron Phypers. The order requires Phypers, 53, to stay 100 yards away from Richards, her work, and prohibits him from contacting her in any manner. The restraining order is set to expire on November 7, 2030.
In addition, Phypers was ordered not to possess any firearms. The ruling comes after Richards, 54, accused Phypers of being abusive during their marriage. During the trial, which took place over multiple days in October 2025, both Richards and Phypers took the stand to testify.
Richards described several instances where Phypers allegedly got physical with her, including an incident in May 2025 where she claimed he hit her in the head with the palm of his hand while she was recovering from surgery. Richards said she was "disoriented from the surgery and was fearful he may seriously injure me." Phypers' cousin also testified that she witnessed him assaulting Richards in January 2022, leaving her with a "really bad black eye."
Phypers adamantly denied the abuse allegations, claiming Richards was the one who broke his phone during a fight. However, the judge ultimately sided with Richards, granting her the long-term restraining order to protect her from further harm.
