Denise Richards Granted Restraining Order Against Estranged Husband Until 2030

On November 16, 2025, Denise Richards, 54, spoke out about the long-term restraining order she obtained against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers. Richards revealed that the judge sided with her, ordering Phypers to stay 100 yards away until 2030.

The restraining order was initially granted on a temporary basis on July 16, 2025, just days after Phypers filed for divorce. In court, Richards detailed multiple incidents of alleged abuse, including Phypers violently choking her, slapping her in the face and head, and threatening to kill her. She also claimed Phypers hacked into her laptop and phone.

Phypers denied the allegations, claiming one of Richards' black eyes was caused by her walking into a pole. However, Phypers' cousin testified that she witnessed him hitting Richards at his wellness center in Malibu. Phypers was subsequently arrested on October 17, 2025, and charged with two felony counts related to injuring a spouse and two felony counts related to dissuading a witness by force or threat.

Richards acknowledged that the public nature of the divorce has been "very daunting" for her. Despite the ongoing legal battle, she said she has a "great support system" and is doing "good" after the judge's ruling in her favor.
