On October 27, 2025, a disturbing case of sexual assault has come to light in Delhi, where a man allegedly posed as an Indian Army officer to deceive and rape a doctor.
According to the police, the accused, Aarav Malik, worked as a delivery person with Amazon. Over the past several months, Malik had been posing as an Indian Army Lieutenant and befriending a 27-year-old doctor from Safdarjung Hospital on social media.
Between April and September 2025, Malik had been communicating with the doctor on Instagram and WhatsApp, claiming to be an Army officer posted in Kashmir. He even sent her photographs of himself wearing a military uniform to support his false claims.
In October 2025, Malik visited the doctor's residence in the Masjid Moth area, where he reportedly spiked her food and then sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene. The doctor filed a complaint at the Safdarjung Enclave police station on October 16, 2025.
Following the complaint, the police conducted a raid in the Chhatarpur area and arrested the accused. During questioning, Malik disclosed that he had purchased the Army uniform online from a shop in Delhi Cantonment.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the investigation is ongoing.
