The victim, Sandipkumar Meghwal, was admitted to the intensive care unit at Sola Civil Hospital with a serious abdominal wound but is currently reported to be in stable condition.
The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. while Meghwal, a resident of Chandkheda originally from Haryana, was traveling with a companion to pick up food in the Gota area. According to police reports, the pair had stopped their motorcycle on a service road near a construction site. While Meghwal was momentarily alone, three men aged between 20 and 25 approached him.
The assailants reportedly launched an unprovoked attack, with one individual pinning Meghwal from behind while the others beat him. During the struggle, Meghwal was stabbed in the stomach and suffered a minor injury to his thumb while attempting to defend himself. One of the attackers also struck him on the head with a stone.
Meghwal’s companion, who was waiting nearby, rushed to his aid after hearing cries for help and contacted emergency services. Interestingly, investigators noted that no property was stolen during the encounter, leaving the motive for the violent outburst unclear. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the assault.
Local authorities have registered a case of attempted murder and assault. Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding roads and nearby construction projects to identify the three men involved.
