A disturbing incident unfolded in Thumba, Kerala, where police apprehended a 26-year-old delivery executive, Akshayjith, for alleged stalking and a brutal attempted murder. The accused had reportedly developed an acquaintance with the victim, a homemaker, approximately two years ago during his courier rounds.
Driven by obsession, Akshayjith repeatedly proposed marriage, facing rejection each time, which escalated his behaviour. He began issuing death threats and, on Monday afternoon, allegedly stormed her residence. When the woman resisted his assault, he attempted to strangle her. Her cries for help alerted neighbours, but the accused managed to escape before they arrived.
The victim immediately reported the harrowing ordeal to Thumba police. Authorities swiftly traced and arrested Akshayjith, who has since been remanded to judicial custody. Initial findings indicate a pattern of similar complaints against the accused, prompting further investigation into any other potential offenses.
