On October 2nd, 2025, a woman in her mid-20s allegedly attacked her sleeping husband with hot oil and chili powder in their South Delhi home. According to the 28-year-old man's police complaint, he was woken up around 3:15 AM by a burning sensation in his body. He claims he discovered that his wife had poured hot oil on him, and she was standing nearby with red chili powder in her hand, threatening to throw more if he raised the alarm.
The man stated that his wife then sprinkled the chili powder on him. He cried for help, and his landlord and brother-in-law rushed to the spot. The victim was first taken to Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital and later referred to Safdarjung Hospital, where he is currently being treated for burn injuries.
The couple has been married for eight years, and the man has faced previous complaints from his wife at the Crime Against Women (CAW) Cell, which were settled. Based on the complainant's statement and medical report, the police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
