In northwest Delhi's Azadpur, a fatal shooting last month has led to the arrest of eight individuals, including a 28-year-old man and seven minors. The group had plotted to avenge the murder of an accomplice but mistakenly killed 18-year-old Ishant.
The incident occurred on February 22, when Ishant was attending a wedding. He was found with gunshot wounds and later declared dead at the hospital. Authorities recovered seven empty cartridges and four live cartridges from the crime scene.
During interrogation, the prime accused, Mohit Pal (28), a known offender with prior criminal cases, confessed that the group intended to target Narender, an individual associated with the murder of Mohit's accomplice. Believing Ishant was connected to Narender, they opened fire.
Investigators identified and arrested Mohit Pal after corroborating evidence. The discovery of a number plate-less motorcycle and the victim's scooter at the scene aided the investigation.
