Delhi Police Launch Pre-New Year Crackdown: 966 Held

Ahead of New Year festivities, the Delhi Police conducted a significant preventive operation, "Operation Aaghat 3.0," in southeast Delhi, leading to the apprehension of 966 individuals. The initiative was designed to combat organized crime and deter habitual offenders during a period of increased public activity, ensuring public safety.
During this extensive crackdown, law enforcement officers seized a substantial quantity of illegal items, including 21 country-made pistols, 20 live cartridges, 27 knives, 12,258 quarters of illicit liquor, and 6.01 kg of ganja. Additionally, Rs 2.36 lakh was confiscated from gamblers, alongside 310 mobile phones and various vehicles.
The operation involved the deployment of over 600 police personnel, enhancing patrolling and surveillance. This proactive approach, coupled with stringent legal actions and proposals for externment of repeat offenders, contributed to a noticeable reduction in street crime incidents in the district over the preceding month.
