Delhi Mother Arrested for Killing Two Daughters
23 Mar
Summary
- A mother was arrested for allegedly killing her two daughters.
- The incident occurred at their residence in Malviya Nagar.
- The mother also allegedly attempted suicide after the murders.

A 54-year-old woman was arrested on Friday for allegedly murdering her two daughters in their south Delhi residence earlier this month. The bodies of the two sisters, aged 34 and 28, were discovered on March 6.
Police entered the locked home to find the elder daughter deceased in one room, and the younger law student in another, with a ligature around her neck. Their mother was found unconscious in a third room, having allegedly consumed poison and slit her wrists.
She was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where doctors suspected poisoning. After her discharge and psychiatric evaluation, she was arrested. The accused remains evasive, and investigators are trying to determine the motive.
Initial findings suggest distress over a strained relationship with her husband and financial dependence may have contributed to the incident. Further investigation is ongoing.
