Lover Stabs Woman After Forced Abortion Dispute

A violent incident occurred in Delhi's Uttam Nagar where a 35-year-old woman was stabbed numerous times by her long-time partner. The attack, which took place on Tuesday in the Om Vihar locality, followed an intense argument. The accused, identified as 43-year-old Yashpal, allegedly pinned the victim and used a knife on her neck before fleeing.
The dispute is reported to have escalated after Yashpal, who is married, allegedly administered abortion pills to the woman in November without her knowledge. This forced termination of her pregnancy led to repeated disagreements between the couple. After the stabbing, Yashpal reportedly took the victim's phone and locked the house from the outside.
Neighbors alerted the police after hearing the victim's cries. She was found bleeding and unconscious and was transported to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital. A case has been registered under the attempt to murder section of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The accused was arrested the same day and remanded to judicial custody.
