Summary
- Delhi High Court froze Sunjay Kapur's assets amidst estate dispute.
- Karisma Kapoor's children question the authenticity of Sunjay's will.
- Court restricted operation of foreign bank accounts and crypto holdings.
The Delhi High Court has intervened in the ongoing estate dispute concerning the assets of the late Sunjay Kapur. In an interim order issued on Thursday, the court mandated the preservation of the estate, restraining Priya Sachdev Kapur from any disposition of assets. The court also directed the submission of account statements and restricted the operation of Sunjay Kapur's foreign bank accounts and cryptocurrency holdings.
The legal battle was initiated by Sunjay Kapur's children from his previous marriage to Karisma Kapoor, who are questioning the validity of a will presented by Priya Sachdev Kapur. Their legal representatives highlighted alleged inconsistencies and doubts surrounding the will's preparation, arguing for stricter scrutiny given Priya's sole beneficiary status.
Sunjay Kapur, who passed away on June 12, 2025, left behind an estate reportedly valued at ₹30,000 crore. The contested will was submitted by Priya Kapur in August. This legal challenge by his children, Samaira and Kiaan, and his mother, Rani Kapur, aims to secure their rightful inheritance.
